Smoking in adolencen is common phenomenon. WHO estimates 1.1 bilion smokers in the world aged under 15 years. Hence, self-control is one of predominan factors that could affect to change negative into positive behavior. This study to determine the correlation between self-control with adolescent smoking behavior in grade X vocational high school I Pleret Bantul Yogyakarta. Descriptive correlation with cross sectional was applied in this study. Fifty respondent were recruited to participate in this study by using Purposive Sampling, Questionnaires were used to collect the data, then analysis data by performing Kendall Tau. There is significant correlation between self-control with adolescent smoking behavior in grade X with negative correlation -0.478 (p<0.05). Self-control was proven affecting the smoking behavior in adolescent in this study. The more high self-control management in adolescent will decrease the risk for smoking behavior.
